Agency playbook

Turn prospect research into better outreach

Run a Diagnostic on a prospect before the first call, pick the one finding that matters to them, and rehearse the approach before you send anything.

The problem

A cold pitch says what you do. A good one says what you noticed about the prospect. Finding something specific takes senior time for every prospect, so most outreach goes out generic.

When to use this playbook

You have a business you want as a client, and its website address.

The workflow

  1. 01

Run a Diagnostic on the prospect’s site

It reads public evidence only, so it needs nothing from them. In 5–10 minutes you have ten pillar scores and a list of findings, each with the evidence behind it.

  2. 02

Pick the one finding that matters to them

Not the longest list. Choose the finding a buyer at that business would care about this quarter: a contact form that goes nowhere, analytics on a retired tag, AI crawlers blocked by their own robots.txt.

  3. 03

    Rehearse the approach

Outreach Rehearsal plays a realistic buyer against your draft message. You get a scored critique, see how the message lands in character (silence included), and work through a pre-send checklist for the recipient’s country. It never sends anything.

  4. 04

Send it yourself, and share the evidence if they ask

The message goes from your own tools. If the prospect wants to see the report, share it as a link or a PDF. It carries a notice that it was prepared for your agency alone.

A Diagnostic opens with its MIDAS™ score, our 0–100 read of the whole marketing stack. This one is from our sample report, for an invented business.

What you use

  • Diagnostic Ten pillars scored from public evidence in 5–10 minutes, with every finding turned into an action item.
  • Outreach Rehearsal Practise the message against a simulated buyer before it goes out. Sessions are included in every Agency plan.

What you end up with

A first message that names something specific and true about the prospect’s business, and a report you can share if they want the evidence.

The opportunity

A first meeting that starts from their problem rather than your credentials. If they sign, the new-client audit picks up from there.

What this playbook does not do

  • Yellowhead supplies no lead lists. You bring the prospects; it tells you what is true about each one.
  • Rehearsal runs its own fresh read of the prospect’s public signals. It does not read your Diagnostic, so you carry the finding across yourself.
  • Each prospect Diagnostic uses one of your plan’s monthly Diagnostics.
